Our review
36 North is the café at Gibraltar Airport, and according to its newest review it has been rebranded as Cafe Louis. It has no Tripadvisor reviews and scores 1.2 on Google from 6, so it is listed on the Index but not ranked. The reviews were re-read on 6 September 2026; the newest is from July 2025.
The record is uniformly bad. Reviewers describe rude staff, a bap served cold and a request to reheat it setting off a row in Spanish, coffee like lukewarm dishwater, a pasty sold as cheese and onion that turned out to be chicken to a vegetarian two bites in, and nothing at all for a vegan companion.
Prices are the other constant complaint: £2 for a can of cola in 2022, £4 for a small bottle of beer in 2025. The one two-star, under the new name, finds the same staff, no cheer and a miserable manner, though it concedes the café and tables are clean and tidy.

Now rebranded Cafe Louis. Just ordered a smal bottle beer Sunday 1300 (£4!). No change in staff personas by the look if it. No cheer or enthusiasm. The lady is just so miserable. The cafe is however clean and tidy, as are the tables.more →

Absolute embarrassment. I asked for a cheese and onion pasty and, as a vegetarian, felt sick after realising, two bites in, that it was chicken. My partner is vegan and there were zero options for him to eat. Everything is massively overpriced and the worst quality. Don't waste your money. I wish I could give it zero starsmore →

If I could award zero I would. Staff are extremely rude and food was cold. When asked if they could reheat my bap it triggered a major row in spanish that they thought I couldn't understand! Totally unprofessional and rude .... oh and the coffee was like luke warm dishwater...... don't waste your money just to be insulted.more →
