Everything at sea level is a walk or a £1.80 bus. The Upper Rock is the problem: the cable car that took most visitors up closed in November 2025 and will not be back before 2027. What replaced it is a £40 shuttle, a £390 taxi, an eBike or your own legs. This page has the real prices for all of them.

The Nature Reserve shuttle
£40 per person, every age, reserve entry included. Tickets at the Market Place office, not online.
- Two electric minibuses run by the bus company with the taxi association, 15 to 20 seats, wheelchair ramps.
- Market Place to Queen's Balcony, with a pick-up at the Queen's Road picnic area for the way down. Daily 09:30 to 16:00, every 30 minutes.
- It gets you to the top. It does not tour you round: the apes, the cave and the tunnels are on foot from the drop-off.
- Thirty-two Google reviews so far and they are not kind. Read them before you choose it over a taxi tour.
Taxis and taxi tours
Town rides run £8 to £13; airport to a hotel about £14. A shared Rock tour is around £51 to £56 a head with the reserve ticket; a private vehicle for up to six is £390 for two hours booked direct.
- Ranks at Casemates, Cathedral Square on Main Street, the frontier and the airport. The law now requires at least five cabs to meet every arriving flight for 90 minutes.
- Fares are regulated and metered. Confirm the price before a tour; the tour is a fixed price, not the meter.
- The marketplace tours ranked on the things-to-do page come out cheaper per person and better reviewed than booking the rank direct. That comparison is on the same Google ratings we use here.
eBike hire
Hire by the hour or day from the shop; the reserve ticket is separate.
- Electric bikes are allowed up the reserve roads and the hills stop mattering. The shop is the highest-rated transport listing in Gibraltar by some distance.
- Prices are the shop's own and change with the season, so we do not print one.
On foot
Free. The Upper Rock is the exception: the reserve gate ticket applies above Jews' Gate.
- Frontier to Casemates Square is about 15 minutes, across the runway on the pedestrian crossing beside the Kingsway tunnel.
- Casemates to Europa Point is an hour along the coast, or take the number 2 back.
- The cruise terminal to town is a 20-minute walk, or the terminal shuttle.
- Up the Rock on foot: the free routes are on the free tours page, and the Mediterranean Steps is the one that needs the reserve ticket.
The cable car
Nothing to buy. Sites still selling tickets are selling nothing.

- Route 2 is the visitor's bus: Market Place to Europa Point past the Alameda Gardens and the old cable car station every 15 minutes.
- Route 5 does the frontier to town in ten minutes. It is Citibus, so have cash.

Hoppy e-scooters
Unlock fee + per minute
Lime-green shared scooters in bays around town. App only, 18 and over, helmet required by law.
- About 150 scooters at marked bays. You can only end a ride in a bay, and the recurring complaint on Trustpilot is bays showing full while the meter runs.
- Not allowed into the Nature Reserve and no use on the Upper Rock's gradients anyway.

Driving and parking
La Línea from €17.60 a day
Since July 2026 you can drive straight in. Whether you should is another matter.
- The frontier barrier came down on 15 July 2026 and there are no routine checks for cars. The old three-hour queue is gone.
- Gibraltar's streets are not. Town is narrow, one-way and short of spaces, so the sensible move is still to park in La Línea and walk the 15 minutes, or park at Midtown and use the bus.
