Our review
Las Iguanas is the Ocean Village branch of the Latin American chain, on the promenade with tables overlooking the water. It holds 3.7 on Tripadvisor from 206 reviews and 4.1 on Google from 422, for an Index of 4.00. The reviews were re-read on 6 September 2026; the newest is from 2 September.
What the good reviews have in common is a named server. Anji, Nadia, Naomi, Lucia, Angie and Noelia are all thanked across 2025 and 2026, often for attentiveness with dietary needs, and a burst of short five-star Google reviews in early August names Nadia three times in two days. The drinks are consistently the safer order, with more than one reviewer saying it is a cosier place for a cocktail than most nearby.
The food is a different story, and the complaints are the same complaint repeated. Mains arriving ten minutes apart with one stone cold, in an empty room, in August 2026; a chargrilled chicken burger arriving battered; a curry with clumped, reheated rice and no salt; food served "without passion". A Russian family in August waited over an hour and say the meat was off and one of them was ill for two days, which is a single unverified account but a serious one.
The bill needs a look. A June 2026 reviewer ordered a Malbec listed at £18.50 and was charged £29, then told the list was simply wrong. Sticky, unwiped outdoor tables come up more than once, and one August review is a joke about a footballer rather than a meal, so it is discounted.
Come for cocktails on the marina and ask for one of the servers by name; the reviews suggest that is where the pleasure is. Two Visits
We visited this restaurant twice within a few days. As it was August we sat outside both times and enjoyed the view overlooking the water. Overall, the service was good. We were served both times by Anji. The food on our first visit was very good. Although on our second visit the food was delivered somewhat haphazard as our daughter receimore →

Las Iguanas/Check your bill
Walked there for a tapas and drink. Ordered a bottle of Malbec for £18.50 and tapas. Service was less than reasonable, even though there were only 5/6 tables occupied. Asked for bill and was furious to find Malbec was £29.00. When I queried I was told " we only have 1 Malbec so that is it" I grabbed the menu and told him he was a liar. Wemore →

Nice food
Had a very nice meal with good food and service we had Taste of Brazil curry and the Bahian curry and both where very nice and the Churros Grannde where very good. The waiter was polite and service good would come back next time in Gibmore →

Had to give a low star rating, our starters were lovely, however, our mains were another matter. Our mains came out at separate times, 10 minutes apart, my main was stone cold so I sent it back to be heated up, my onion rings never turned up and my wife's burger which turned up 10 minutes later was also cold. Lovely comfortable chair, some fish in the nearby water outside too which adds fun value. Former England goalkeeper (only 8 caps, he wasn’t that good) Ben Foster isn’t patient enough so he didn’t get to try the quallo churros. Five stars.more →
