Poptata Chicken

Poptata Chicken is a small takeaway on Landport Tunnel Road doing southern-fried chicken, chicken burgers and the chunky chips it calls poptata fritz; one reviewer describes it as a food truck. It is not on Tripadvisor and scores 4.9 on Google from 21 reviews, and the Index puts it at 4.60, shrunk toward the site average on a sample that only just clears fifteen. The chips are the thing. They are called the best ever, next level, crunchy and to die for, and one regular says to get the parmesan truffle chips. The chicken burger is named as the best in Gibraltar, the fried chicken as fresh, crispy and cooked to order, and the value as amazing, with a January 2026 reviewer calling it their new place after being let down elsewhere on the Rock.

The picture has a crack in it since the start of 2026. A January four-star found the chips lovely but the fried chicken over-fried, dark and not fresh, and a July delivery order reported a hard, dark, salty coating over greasy skin, with the chips arriving cold in an open tray inside a paper bag. The meat itself, both say, was fine.

Service is quick and the staff are liked; Antonio is named as good fun in the newest review, from September 2026. Twenty-one reviews, most of them from a burst in December 2025, is still an early run rather than a track record.
