Special Olympics Cafe is a simple café at No 1 Grandy Close. It is not on Tripadvisor, and scores 3.6 on Google from 10 reviews, below the fifteen-review threshold, so it is listed but not ranked. The reviews were re-read on 6 September 2026; the newest is from October 2025.
The praise is for cheap, generous plates and a kind welcome: very good chips at low prices, a tikka roll one Spanish-speaking visitor loved, and three reviews posted on the same day in September 2025 all praising the portions, prices and service. A 2024 visitor found a basic room with friendly staff and noted that some of the takings go to help people with special needs.
The complaints are as blunt. An October 2025 visitor found the breakfast roll very salty and the price poor for the quality, and could not communicate with the server in English. A September 2025 delivery arrived with the chicken burnt hard.

The only thing preventing me from giving a one star review is the fact that I was hungry. The breakfast roll was extremely salty and tasted bad, the person serving us didn't speak a word of English and the price/quality is disappointing.more →
