Europa Point
The southern tip. A lighthouse, a mosque, and Africa 23 km away.
The southernmost point of Gibraltar, and effectively of continental Europe at this longitude. The Trinity House lighthouse has stood here since 1841, alongside the Ibrahim-al-Ibrahim Mosque, a Catholic shrine and the Victorian Harding's Battery.
On a clear day the Moroccan coast is plainly visible across 23 kilometres of water. It costs nothing, the bus runs there from town, and it is one of the genuinely memorable places on the Rock.
