The Gibraltar Dungeons
An effects-led underground attraction inside the Moorish Castle walls, about the Spanish garrison and its justice. Under construction; the operator says soon.
The old prison spaces within the Moorish Castle walls, never before open to the public, are being turned by Fortress Attractions into the Gibraltar Dungeons: a haunting, effects-led walk through what the prison was like, focused on the Spanish garrison and the justice of the era. The operator warns the scenes are intense and may not suit young children.
It is sold as part of the Spanish Empire tier of the Land of Empires experience and above, not on the Nature Reserve ticket. On 11 September 2026 the operator described it as under construction and opening soon, with a Halloween evening among the special events it is planning. No date and no price have been published.
Our tip
The prison ran until 2010, so some of the fabric it dramatises is very recent history in a building a thousand years old.
