Our review

Admiral Arena is a sports bar and grill at 8 Casemates Square. It has just 2 Tripadvisor reviews, both five stars, and 4.2 on Google from 687, for an Index of 4.20 that rests on the Google base. We re-read the reviews on 6 September 2026; the newest is from 2 September, and the summer has been kind to it.

The 2026 reviews read alike: generous, tasty, reasonably priced food, quick and friendly service, and a relaxed room. Fish and chips, spaghetti carbonara, chicken pops and a chicken Caesar salad are all recommended by one German party in August, breakfasts are called excellent twice in the same week, and a Spanish family found it calm and ideal for children. When one table knocked over a glass of juice, the staff replaced it free of charge.

What stands out is how many servers are named: Hamza on Tripadvisor, and Kayla, Lucas, Otman and Jman on Google, all for friendly, polite, attentive service. One August Google entry carries one star under a glowing text about lovely food and friendly staff, which looks like a mis-click rather than a complaint, and we read it as praise.

The honest caveat is the sample. Sixteen reviews with text, all from 2026 and all but one at five stars, tell you the place is on form this summer; they say almost nothing about the sport, the grill, the evenings or what happens on a busy match night, because nobody in this set writes about any of that.

Very nice place for lunch in Gibraltar. We were really satisfied with the food, which was tasty and reasonably priced. The service was excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We accidentally broke a glass with juice, and they kindly brought us another one for free. Great food, great service, and a very nice atmosphere.more →
