The Churchill Arms

The Churchill Arms is a small pub on Irish Town that opened in 2025, scoring 4.6 on Google across 18 reviews. It is not on Tripadvisor, so the Index of 4.50 rests on Google alone; it has crossed the fifteen-review line since our last read and is now ranked. We re-read the reviews on 6 September 2026 and the newest was posted the same day.

For a new bar it feels old, and that is the compliment. Walls of Churchill memorabilia, a cosy and well-kept room, and a proper beer list: local and English ales alongside mainstream options, with Guinness and Old Speckled Hen praised as well kept and served in the correct branded glasses. A pint of Guinness was £4.50 for one Italian visitor, and a British reviewer found it much cheaper than home.

It has settled into a locals' pub with a regular crowd, football on, and staff called warm, welcoming and fast, even for a single-pint stop. Regular visitors to Gibraltar say they will be back.

The caveats are size and scope. Reviewers count around a dozen seats and wish it were wider; one family walked in and straight out again with children. A gin and tonic came warm for want of ice in August 2026, and a reviewer who wanted food was unsure any is served.
