Our review

Caffe Bottega is an Italian restaurant and cafe on Parliament Lane, just off Irish Town, with an arched, cellar-like interior and tables on the lane. It holds 5.0 on Tripadvisor from only 5 reviews and 4.6 on Google from 99, which gives an Index of 4.60. The reviews were re-read on 6 September 2026; the newest Tripadvisor review is from May 2026 and the newest Google reviews are from the end of August.

The Google run through the summer is warm: excellent service, good value, a well air-conditioned room and food called exquisite by a Spanish reviewer. Francieli is named three times for friendly, attentive service, portions are called impressive and prices competitive, and one regular notes a daily-changing list of local dishes beside the standard menu. The older Tripadvisor reviews add the detail: grilled swordfish, pork loin from the specials board, a Scampi Sambuca, and two large tables of locals who had booked, which the reviewer took as the sign to stay.

There is dissent, and it is about the burgers. A two-star in August 2026 found the double cheeseburger thin, sauceless and fast-food in style, with a waitress who could not help, and a three-star in June found the carbonara big but not up to Italian standard and the burger dry, at around 50 euros for three dishes and a juice. Set against that, an October 2025 reviewer enjoyed the same gourmet burger meal, so it may depend on the day or on expectations.

One reviewer describes it as lunchtime only, which is worth checking before an evening plan, though older reviews describe dinner. The Tripadvisor count is tiny, so the Index leans almost entirely on Google.

Come for Italian cooking off the specials board in a handsome room that locals book, with coffee in the morning and named, friendly service; order from the Italian side rather than the burgers if the recent reviews are a guide. Lovely little gem !
Lovely little restaurant, called for morning coffee. Lots of staff all busy doing their thing, chatting away and all looked really happy, it created a lovely atmosphere! Coffee was nice, and the smells from the kitchen told me the food would not disappoint! We will be back 😃more →

Good food in good atmosphere
Came across this place late afternoon and decided to have a double cheeseburger meal each. Already full outside so we ate inside which was nicely decorated and felt like you were in a stuccoed cellar with all the archways. The waitress was very pleasant and the meals were delicious with plenty of salad. We did not have to wait that long emore →

Low Key, High Quality.
Excellent restaurant just off of Irish Town in Parliament Lane. We stumbled across it by accident, but noted two large tables of locals, had booked in - which is generally a good sign !. Took a table for four, had drinks, starters, main courses (from the specials board) and Irish Coffee - well you have to when you're next to Irish Town. Smore →

Amazing
I never expected to eat so well in Gibraltar. We were all surprised by how delicious all the dishes were. Especially Scampi Sambuca, a delight. Very nice place, we ate on the terrace, charming street. Very friendly staff and they gave us great advice.more →

Stumbled In
My wife and I were on Gibraltar for the day. We wandered down a small little street off Main Street and found this restaurant. The decor was upscale. The staff was friendly and helpful. My wife had a smothered chicken dish which the staff said is a favorite. I went with the fish and chips. This was the best meal of our week in Spain and Gmore →
