The most recent run of praise is almost entirely about the staff, and one waitress in particular: Pamela, or Pam, is thanked in a dozen reviews, most of them posted on a single day in mid-August, so they read as one enthusiastic group's visit rather than a dozen separate verdicts. Miriam and Abel are named alongside her, and a Google reviewer was made a homemade lemonade on request. It is described as a charming town-centre stop for morning coffee, a drink or an informal meal, and an Italian visitor calls it one of Gibraltar's historic bars.

The food gets less attention than the welcome. A bacon sandwich called the best a reviewer had eaten, good coffee with plant-based milk, apple cake with white wine, and fish and chips rated well by a Spanish family, though their mushy peas were not right, are the positives. Against that: clams that were not great and expensive, a two-star who found the whole place pricey for what it is, and two blunt one-liners in August calling the food disgusting.

The most useful review is the least flattering. A regular of three years writes in August 2026 that the place has gone downhill fast, that the new staff seem unhappy and short on basic courtesy, and that management needs to step in.
