Laguna Bar

Laguna Bar is a churrería, a churros café-bar, on Corral Road near the town centre, scoring 4.0 on Google across 24 reviews. It is not on Tripadvisor, so the Index of 4.10 rests on Google alone. We re-read the reviews on 6 September 2026; the newest with text is from November 2025, ten months ago.

The churros carry the place. Reviewers call them the best in Gibraltar, fresh, traditional and well priced, and the man cooking them is repeatedly singled out as kind and happy to explain the options. Chocolate con churros is one Spanish regular's fixed stop on every visit, at a place they describe as nothing like British. Card is accepted.

It is a working café-bar beyond the churros: it opens early, draws a crowd of workers, and a regular names Paqui and Cristian as charming and the Russian salad and macaroni as light tapas worth having.

The complaints are about service at the counter rather than the food. An August 2025 reviewer found the waitress short with people, a coffee that had been sitting twenty minutes and no change for a ten-pound note, and said the churrero was the reason anyone came back; a 2024 visitor was told bluntly there were no churros that day. One 2022 review describing a beach bar with a wide menu of meat and fish and a large kitchen staff is plainly about a different business and we have discounted it.
