Our review

This is the Ocean Village branch of PizzaExpress, with a terrace over the marina, and the reviews were re-read on 6 September 2026. It scores 4.1 on Tripadvisor from 317 reviews and 4.4 on Google from 370, for an Index of 4.30. The newest Google review is from August 2026 and the newest Tripadvisor review from July 2026.

It is judged as the chain it is, and mostly judged kindly. The dough balls, garlic bread with mozzarella, the American Hot, the à la reine, a lasagne at sunset and roasted mushrooms are all named, a vegan menu was praised by cruise passengers, and a nut allergy was handled by consulting the chef repeatedly. The setting does the rest: an outdoor space at the back with fantastic views, live music on Wednesday evenings, and a discount for holders of dolphin trip tickets.

The floor staff are named more than at most places: Agnes twice, Junior, Jon or John the manager, Hector, Mark, Rocio, Frank, Francisco, Vito and Bartolo, and a Spanish family sends greetings from Madrid. Service is described as fast even when busy.

Management is where it falls down. A children's birthday party in May 2026 was warned before it began that noise would mean the bill and the door, while an absent manager watched by camera and phoned twice to complain; another parent's party the previous December met the same assumption, in a review filed as five stars only to get attention. A July 2026 diner was refused a change to a dish they found unbearably spicy and left without lunch, and a June couple objected to a service charge on a table of two for pizza they thought little better than a takeaway. Older reviews call the furniture tired and £20 a head steep, though a 2026 regular now calls the interior modern and inviting, so it may have been refreshed.

Staff is Great - Manager not so much
I’m giving this place 3 stars mainly because the staff were lovely and the food was genuinely very good. However, the experience was unfortunately overshadowed by the manager’s attitude and approach, which I found very disappointing. Lunch in the sun
Lovely lunch sat outside on the terrace in the sun. We had garlic bread with mozarella, a la reine pizza, a pasta dish and kids menu, all were really delicious. Service is always good here too. We often come to Pizza Express and will be back again soon!more →

Amazing !!! Definitely be back
Come to Gibraltar at least once a year and have never been but we did this time and i can honestly say it wont be the last well we came twice while here this time and only here for 4 days , junior was one of our waiters and he was very friendly, accommodating and very professional and it made us want to come back again , all the staff vermore →

We had such a fantastic time here recently. Everything from the starters to the main course was absolutely spot on. The roasted mushrooms were perfectly seasoned and made for an incredible start to our meal. We really enjoyed the variety of pizzas, especially the one topped with olives and tomatoes. I often visit PizzaExpress Gibraltar, and it’s always a wonderful experience. The interior is modern and inviting, but my favourite part is the outdoor space at the back, which has a fantastic ambience and stunning scenery.
