Our review
The Old Mole Kitchen is a café-bar at 17 Waterport Road, near the port. It is not on Tripadvisor; on Google it holds a perfect 5.0 from 40 reviews, and the Index score is 4.80. We re-read the newest fourteen reviews on 6 September 2026, every one of them five stars; the most recent is from 3 September.
The reviews describe homemade food at very reasonable prices, family-orientated, with churros and coffee, music, a very clean room and a building one reviewer calls unique for its history. Robert, who runs the place, is named, as are Lorena the waitress and the cooks Julia, Linda, Vicky and Anita; the newest review simply says the Alhambra is really good.
Nine of the fourteen reviews were posted on 25 and 26 June 2026, most of them a line or two, and several name the same staff. That reads like friends and regulars turning out for a place they like, which is real support but not the same as a settled reputation; the reviews since, in July, August and September, keep the score at five.
