Our review

The Ship is a sports bar and pub on the Marina Bay front near the dolphin boats, and the reviews were re-read on 6 September 2026. It scores 4.2 on Tripadvisor from 261 reviews and 4.3 on Google from 214, for an Index of 4.20. The newest Tripadvisor review is from August 2026 but concerns drinks only; the newest food reviews are from July 2026.

It is first a pub with keen prices. Happy hour runs four to seven, with £3 pints and two cocktails for £9.50 reported in 2025, an espresso at £2.45 and a hot chocolate at £2.50 in May 2026, and one Google reviewer warns that after UK prices you will not want to go home. There are screens for sport, a terrace over the harbour and the floating casino, and a crowd of expats and locals that is, in one regular's words, often loud, often sweary, but always welcoming. A German reviewer in June 2026 felt ignored as a non-regular and found the operator unfriendly, while praising the staff.

Breakfast is the dish. It is called really good, elegant, delicious and well presented across half a dozen reviews from 2025 into July 2026, with a vegetarian version noted, and the general food is rated brilliant for the price by several. Nathan and a German waiter, Dirk, are named for good service, one waitress helped a wedding party find a florist and wished the bride luck, and a group of eleven turned away elsewhere were welcomed and stayed six hours.

The bad nights are bad. A June 2026 breakfast arrived with raw egg white and the waitress dismissed it as "the cheese"; a Sunday roast in November 2025 had packet beef, hard potatoes and a burnt Yorkshire; a May 2025 lunch table left after 50 minutes without food. Two April 2025 reviews describe drinks bills that were wrong or inflated, one corrected only after six attempts, the other put right by the bar staff, so check the bill. The kitchen once shut on a Saturday evening without warning, and evenings can be too noisy for some.

Come for a cheap pint in happy hour, sport on the screens and a good breakfast by the marina; check your bill, and do not expect the kitchen to be the reason you came. Nobody from Gibraltar Index has eaten here; this write-up is drawn from the reviews.

Drink stop
We went here on a number of occasions but only for a drinks stop. We did not eat so I cant comment on the food. The drinks we had were good and service fine. Have a look on the boards for when they have happy hour and for what is included in it.more →

Sunday Roast dinner
Sunday Roast dinner , Had different meats Beef &Lamb Beef was out of a packet not off the joint over cooked and chewy Asked if beef was out of the packet as it was very thinly sliced and was told it was off the bone I wasn't convinced . 2 Roast potatoes that were hard , mush which was ok but I think a couple more Roast would of been bettemore →

A day with friends
Staff very polite and friendly and helpful food was brilliant and plenty of food on the plates located down by the marina would recommend this place to anyone definitely go back theremore →

Great location, and Happy Hour!

If you want horrible service and an undercooked breakfast, then this is the place for you. Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. The breakfast arrived undercooked, with the eggs still runny and full of uncooked egg white.
