Our review
The Victoria Lounge is the café at Gibraltar International Airport, where travellers and airport staff get a coffee before a flight or a shift. It scores 2.1 on Tripadvisor from 8 reviews and 2.4 on Google from 19, and the Index puts it at 3.00. The reviews were re-read on 6 September 2026; the newest is from June 2026.
The complaints are consistent across a decade: staff who ignore customers at the counter, wipe tables in an empty room rather than serve, or chat on the phone or to a boyfriend while customers clear tables themselves. One 2019 reviewer watched a server sneeze into her hands and carry on handling cups and milk, and chose not to order. A Google review dated 2022 describes an incident in May 2025, so its dating is muddled, but the account of being told to wait while tables were wiped is the same as the others.
Price and food come second. Two small coffees for £6 in March 2026, a £5 sandwich called terrible, two rolls and coffees for €16.80, hot chocolate as a sachet and a cup of hot milk to mix yourself, no visible prices, no vegan options in 2022, and frozen food and flies in an older Spanish review. The food selection is called limited more than once.
The credit is thin but real. The coffee itself is often called good, including by a regular in June 2026 who goes for a morning latte, tea was £1.20 in 2021, non-dairy milk is available, and the view of the Rock is good. One reviewer prefers the bar upstairs for the view.

General feeling of laziness from staff
Staff uninterested in serving or cleaning the dirty tables. One member of staff served three customers very slowly because she was holding a conversation on her mobile phone. Limited food. Coffee was okay!more →

Do it yourself!
Hot chocolate was a cup of hot milk and sachet to mix the powder in myself. What!? The cup was tiny, the stuff clumped together and spilled everywhere. A decaff coffee was the same: sachet and DIY. No visible price lists or menu items: so not at all clear what's available other than crisps etc. The server was on her own (it was 0945) and more →

Handy waiting spot
Early for the plane, and a very reasonable priced cafe to wait for check in Staff were friendly and efficient, and a cup of tea at £1.20 was indeed very reasonablemore →

Queuing for a considerable amount of time, one girl struggled with the language and the tills, the same girl has just sneezed into her hands grabbed a coffee cup putting her fingers inside and served a lady her drink, then grabbed handle of four of the back fridges opened up another fridge on the bar side for a new milk carton served toasmore →

Lazy staff
Couldn't believe what we saw on arrival. Dirty plates glasses etc on most tables whilst the server chatted with her boyfriend at the end of the bar. When she could drag herself away she served us drinks but didn't enter it in the till. Draw your own conclusion. Customers were clearing dirty tables for hermore →

This place only gets only 1 star this time (gave it 2 on previous visits). Previously I'd covered availability and type of food. This time I will focus on my experience today.
