Our review

Adam's Baguettes is a small sandwich counter on Governor's Street, a short walk off Main Street. It scores a perfect 5.0 on Tripadvisor from 3 reviews and another 5.0 on Google from 40, and the Index, combining both, puts it at 4.80. The offer is hand-made baguettes and wraps with a wide choice of fillings, made to order on fresh bread while you watch, and reviewers keep returning to how well stocked they are. The beef pinchito baguette with cheddar and chips inside gets a specific recommendation, as do the Moroccan chicken and the meatballs with salad and rice. Bowls of meat with chips, salads and pizza by the slice also get a mention.

Value is the other constant. Prices are described as very low for the quality and quantity, by a Dutch visitor relieved to find somewhere that was not overpriced tourist fast food and by a local who has been going for more than 15 years. The people running it, described in one review as a hard-working couple, are praised in nearly every account as kind, friendly and helpful.

Perfect sandwiches
