Al Baraka is a small independent Middle Eastern and Moroccan takeaway on City Mill Lane, a side street off Main Street. It was a Google-only listing until today; its Tripadvisor page was found and attached on 6 September 2026, so Tripadvisor now counts alongside Google. It stands at 3.3 from just 3 Tripadvisor reviews and 4.6 from 33 on Google, for an Index of 4.40. The reviews were re-read on 6 September 2026, but the newest with any text is from August 2024 on Google and April 2023 on Tripadvisor, so the picture is two years old.
What people liked was simple and specific: a Moroccan chicken lunch box with tender chicken and strong flavours, big kebabs, burgers and chips cooked to order and generous, plenty of sauce, and staff described as polite, chatty and kind. Reviewers in Spanish, French, Italian and Romanian all say much the same, and one Italian sums it up as a quick, cheap lunch. It takes cards. A Google reviewer notes it is not fancy but saves you when you come down off the Rock hungry.
Delivery is where the two complaints sit. A Tripadvisor visitor in April 2023 had an order arrive twenty minutes late and cold, with hard meat and no sauce; a Google regular in September 2023 gave up after repeated wrong deliveries despite enjoying the food. Avoid
Wanted a quick meal one night after walking round the lovely sights of Gibraltar. Ordered and delivery stated 18.10 arrived at 18.30 which I could forgive if the food was warm. Chips... Cold and no salt as asked for. Chicken bites for the kids.... Cold. No sauce on the kebab. Meat hard. Almost inedible. Won't go here againmore →
