Our review

All's Well is a traditional British pub on Grand Casemates Square with a covered terrace facing the square. It scores 3.7 on Tripadvisor from 237 reviews and 4.2 on Google from 505, giving an Index of 4.00. The reviews were re-read on 6 September 2026 and the newest was written that morning.

The fish and chips is the dish people write about, and in 2026 they are still writing about it warmly: flaky fish, crisp batter, pea puree and tartare sauce, praised by British, American and German visitors alike. The lamb, a banoffee pie, a chicken Caesar and a John Dory also get named, and a Google reviewer credits the cook, Jesus Tapia, by name. The terrace with its umbrellas, a proper pint and the people-watching are the rest of the appeal, and several reviewers came back two or three times in a short stay.

Service is where it splits, and the split is sharp. One server is repeatedly described as cheerful and quick even when busy, but a May 2026 visitor left before seeing a menu after a rude and sarcastic waiter, and a June 2026 account describes a waiter blaming the table for his own drinks mix-up, talking over the manager during the complaint, and later slamming the card machine down. The manager apologised, which is noted in the reviewer's favour.

The smaller gripes are about the kitchen's edges rather than its core. Fried tapas bites arrived cold inside and came back microwaved, prawns pil pil were called the worst a reviewer had eaten, the cocktails were judged watered down at £7.50, and a gluten-intolerant visitor in August 2026 found nothing on the menu and no salads left at two in the afternoon. A regular also objected in 2025 to the breakfast rising from £8.95 to £12.50.

Come for fish and chips, a pint and a sunny seat on the square, and you will most likely be well served. Cocktails and the wider tapas list are the weaker bets, and if you catch the wrong waiter the reviews suggest walking on rather than arguing. Incredibly bad waiter
Called in for a beer and to check out food menu. Had a thoroughly awful and disagreeable experience. Waiter was rude, sarcastic and insulting with absolutely no reason to be so. Didn't even make it as far as seeing the menu. All was definitely not well. We will be returning to Gibraltar again to spend money. None of which will be spent inmore →

Fish and chips, the hit
Very British - very friendly staff and good menu. Fish and chips with the pea puree and tartare sauce were awesome. Also the lamb with lots of vegetables was excellent. Dessert, banoffee pie was something new with crumble, bananas, coffee cream and cream - a surprise. Everything was very good and recommended.more →

Wer die Wahl hat, hat die Qual. Kommt man auf den großen Platz in Gibraltar und möchte etwas Essen. Dann sind da mind. ein Dutzend Restaurants. Zum Glück haben wir uns für das All's Well entschieden.
