Our review

Bianca's is a big all-day bar and restaurant on the Marina Bay quayside, and the reviews were re-read on 6 September 2026. It scores 4.2 on Tripadvisor from 982 reviews and 4.4 on Google from 838, for an Index of 4.30. The newest reviews are from the first week of September 2026, though one of them, a one-star Google entry consisting of a political slogan, is not a review of the restaurant and has been discounted.

The setting and the regulars are the strong side. Locals describe eating here twice a week and call it the best in Gibraltar, a visitor of many years says it keeps getting better, and the team are named again and again: Karl and Maria, Petra, Iratxe, Carmen, Natalie. It is pet friendly, with water and a rug brought for a spaniel, the terrace looks across the marina to the Sunborn, and staff happily moved a table out of the evening sun in August.

The menu is wide and the prices are fair: mains mostly £10 to £17, a large breakfast with a drink at £9.95, Sunday roasts in different sizes, a Caesar salad heaped with chicken, steak and prawns, gambas pil pil, pizza with sweet potato fries and a chicken curry one family's daughter loves. When it is good, reviewers call the food consistently excellent.

The fish and chips is the problem, and it is a pattern rather than a one-off. In June 2026 a party of regulars sent back a grey, uncooked fish in soggy batter and never saw the manager return; on 6 September another couple describe brown, lukewarm fish that had plainly been frozen, chips like grease sticks, staff huddled and talking while they tried to get attention, and a manager who shrugged. A Google reviewer in August adds that the pizzas are deep-frozen rather than made on site, and an older review says the same of the swordfish. Elsewhere a coconut chicken dish tasted of custard, one meal was bland throughout, and a diabetic guest was refused permission to use his own diet mixer and walked out embarrassed.

Come for the quayside, the breakfast, the roasts and the friendliest of the named staff, and you may have the five-star evening the regulars describe; avoid the fish and chips and the pizza, and expect the management to be unhelpful if something goes wrong. ABSOLUTELY AWFUL Don’t have the fish and chips
Had not eaten all day as we have been travelling and went to what we thought was the restaurant we had visited last year. Unfortunately, it had been taken over by the restaurant next door. A Great Spot
We ate here twice during our visit to Gibraltar. The setting is lovely, with a view towards the Marina and the Sunborn Hotel. As it was August it was very hot and the staff had no problem with us moving tables to escape the setting sun during our evening meal. Dreadful attitude
We booked a.meal and drinks for 13th August. We order 2 filet steaks drink for my wife and whiskey gor myself. I asked if they sold diet ginger ale, but they didn't (hes diabetic). I explained I always travel with small cans and could I use them with their whiskey. The waitress agreed. 5 minutes later, she returned saying the manager had more →
