Vault 13 is an Asian-influenced small-plates bar and restaurant in a historic vault at Chatham Counterguard. It holds 4.9 on Tripadvisor from 41 reviews and 4.6 on Google from 85, which gives an Index of 4.70. The reviews were re-read on 6 September 2026; the newest Google review is from early September and the newest Tripadvisor review from July.

The dishes people name have not changed: Japanese fried chicken, salt and pepper fries, halloumi bao buns and halloumi bites, pork belly bites, bravas, sliders, the Asian prawns and the chicharrones. Reviewers call it Asian tapas and order across the table, and one August Google review describes the owner as always present and the cooking as different from anything else in Gibraltar.

Service is named person by person, which has been true for two years: Matthew the manager, Andrea, Tiago, Karim, Juan, Laura and Chloe all appear, and a couple call it their date-night spot because the staff help with food intolerances. Repeat visits within one holiday recur.

The dissent is measured and worth reading. A three-star in July 2026 describes a drinking bar with good but heavily fried food, a small and unremarkable tomato salad and prices that are not cheap for what arrives; a four-star in May advises adjusting expectations after the online praise, while still calling it a solid choice with the best Aperol Spritz in town. Dry covered space is limited when the weather turns.

Don't miss this restaurant!
I was told that this was the best restaurant in Gibraltar - and it is! All of the dishes were incredibly delicious and beautifully prepared and presented!! I ordered the Japanese fried chicken that was super crispy and delicious, alongside the delicious salt and pepper fries. The halloumi bao buns sounded too good to pass up so I ordered more →

Drinking bar with food.
Vault 13 was recommended by local friends. It is a drinking bar offering Asian fusion cuisine. A lot of fried food which was actually good, but probably not the healthiest. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Prices for the quality offered are not cheap They brought a tomato salad which was too small and not fantastic. The prawns wermore →

Lovely food, pleasant staff,
We visited here as a family of 4. We were greeted by a friendly member of staff and shown to our table. The order was taken promptly and the food arrived quickly, All the food was lovely and it was a decent price too. Great for tapas located close to the centre
My wife and I chose Vault 13 based on previous reviews. We were not disappointed and thoroughly enjoyed an extremely nice tapas-style meal. The dishes were very well presented and the service was great. We had the Bravas potatoes, Japanese style chicken and Beef/Steak sliders. All delicious and very filling for us.more →
