Kebab house

Kebab House is a small kebab takeaway on Cornwall's Lane, off Main Street, doing Moroccan and Mediterranean fast food. It has a 1.0 on Tripadvisor from a single review and 3.6 on Google from 38, and the Index, leaning on the larger Google base, puts it at 3.70. The reviews were re-read on 6 September 2026; the newest is from July 2026.

The Google record splits almost evenly between five stars and one. The fans call it the best kebab house in Gib and among the best kebabs they have eaten, the lamb in particular; one reviewer raves about the crispy king prawns and onion bhaji with rice, coleslaw and dips, and another found it the only place in town doing a kebab-shop burger, served quickly and kindly.

The one-star side clusters around ordering remotely. The single Tripadvisor review, from July 2025, describes a Hungry Monkey order placed shortly before closing that turned into a collection, shouted phone calls from the shop demanding the customer hurry, and food that arrived barely warm and missing every add-on. On Google, others report special requests ignored on online orders, and a phone that went unanswered until they discovered the shop was shut with its hours not updated.

Food complaints are fewer but sharp: one calls it diabolical with sore bellies all round and warns off the aioli, and a Czech reviewer found the doner cut into huge pieces and barely wrapped. Rudeness comes up on both platforms.
