Our review

Latinos is a bar-restaurant with a long menu in a corner of Casemates Square, near the exit towards the frontier, with live music some nights. It holds 3.6 on Tripadvisor from 444 reviews and 3.3 on Google from 455, for an Index of 3.50, and Google being the lower of the two is unusual in Gibraltar. The reviews were re-read on 6 September 2026 and the newest are from 3 September.

Both September reviews are one-star and about the same thing, the fried fish platter: "dried" in one, a deep-fried mess with a langoustine oozing brown liquid in the other, and an empty room while the neighbours were full. The pizza draws the same verdict three times over, two Polish reviewers in summer 2026 and a British one in 2025 all comparing it to the cheapest supermarket frozen pizza. Baby ribs that were huge and tough, and a Valentine's dinner with raw beef and sour salmon, complete the list.

Waiting is the other constant: 45 minutes for a pint and 20 for the bill in August 2026, half an hour for two cocktails in a quiet room in April, an order never sent to the kitchen in April, and fifteen minutes unacknowledged while a supervisor stood at the door. Staff are called demotivated more than once, and one returning visitor concluded it had become a tourist trap. A house white at £10, broken toilets and smokers at the tables are noted in passing.

The good reviews are real and not few. Noodles and a salad in August 2026, king prawns in June, a party of six in May, a full English and a frozen strawberry daiquiri called the best anywhere, a fantastic mushroom soup, gamba pil pil, and a Spanish visitor in June who came despite the ratings and left delighted. The strongest is from December 2025: an 85-person graduation buffet with a DJ, handled with nothing but smiles.

Come, if you do, for a drink and the square, or for a booked group event where the staff have shown they can rise to it. For an ordinary meal the reviews are too heavily against the fried fish and the pizza, and too full of waiting, to call it a safe bet with better-rated kitchens either side. Avoid latinos gibraltar
All i will say is don't eat here awful service awful food no atmosphere or happy staff save your money and go somewhere else the burger we had in McDonald's was far superior to the dried fish platter we had here AVOIDmore →

Tasty noodles
We sat outside for our meal. It was so hot and we were offered a table inside but stayed outside anyway. Our mains were very tasty. Husband had noodles that were rich and yummy and my salad was excellent. The restaurant was not busy at all so service was good. We enjoyed it here.more →

Great Food, and lovely staff!
Lovely staff and great food (I have the king prawns, wow!) Fairly quiet, but don't be put off by that. I had a wonderful meal and couple of drinks here, chatting with other guests and staff, and a great place to people watch too!more →

Went here for an evening meal as we thought it looked nice should have guessed from lack of diners that it wasn't going to be great when you look at the establishments either side of this restaurant they look very popular we were greeted by a staff member that couldn't be bothered threw a table for two in a space next to the doors even thmore →

Very disappointing. Waiters seemed very demotivated. Only nice thing was the gamba pil pil. The fried fish platter was a joke, so were the fumbled leaves of lettuce (advertised as salad), and five pieces of fries underneath. I had a rack of ribs that was way too chewy and covered in a marinade to cover up tastelessness. Been before with bmore →
