Lek Bangkok is a Thai restaurant at Euro Towers on the Westside, run by a Thai couple: 4.1 on Tripadvisor from 62 reviews, 4.5 on Google from 194, and an Index of 4.40, which keeps it among the stronger Asian options in Gibraltar. The reviews were re-read on 6 September 2026, and the newest are from August 2026.

The phrase 'best Thai I have ever had' turns up more than once: from a Korean traveller relieved to find Asian food after weeks in Europe, from a couple whose Thai wife was greeted personally by Lek, the owner, and from a Thai reviewer who found the cooking authentic. The menu is large with a separate specials list, a duck special came recommended by the waiter, and people come back twice in a holiday and again the next year. Jeremy, Nana and Nathan are named on the floor, Feed and Lek as the owners, and the welcome is the most consistent compliment on the page. Order it Thai hot and, one regular says, that is what you get.

Not everyone is won over. An August 2025 review is detailed and damning: everything over-sweet, a green curry without Thai basil, bamboo or lime leaf, and beef that did not taste fresh. Two July 2026 reviews call it an average Thai place, and one of those finds it relatively expensive for food that was only OK. A 2023 reviewer thought the salads were mostly leaves under a thin layer of meat, with £3 extra charged for bamboo shoots.

Practical notes from the reviews. The upstairs room gets hot and the stairs are hard with mobility problems, so ask for an outside table, and the drinks choice is limited. It is very popular at weekends and one April 2026 reviewer says to order early. A February 2026 complaint records a £20 gift voucher bought in November 2024 being refused with no expiry printed on it and no goodwill offered; a single account, but worth knowing if you are buying one.

Excellent Thai food !
We came here for dinner last night. It was the second time we had come here during this holiday. We love it ! The menu has a huge selection and there is a Specials section as well. The service from Jeremy and Nana is first class and they are both very friendly. The owner is very nice as well. We will definitely be back on our next holidaymore →

Overly sweet, low-quality ingredients, and lacking authentic Thai flavour
Dining options can be rather limited in Gibraltar. As we were craving Asian food, we decided to have dinner at Lek Bangkok. Unfortunately the food was a real letdown. Worth going!
Family evening meal-book outside table as if have to go upstairs gets very hot and stairs hard work if have mobility issues, as two out of three of us have! Friendly, helpful, staff, great choice of food on the menu. Limited choice for drinks, but tries to give different options. Food excellent, hot, generous portions, cannot fault it. Wemore →
