Our review

Little Bay is an Indian restaurant and bar on the Ocean Village promenade. It holds 4.5 on Tripadvisor from 810 reviews and 4.6 on Google from 749, close agreement that sets the Index at 4.50. The reviews were re-read on 6 September 2026 and the newest are from 28 August, so the picture is current.

The cooking draws the big claims: the best Indian food one reviewer had eaten outside India, a couple from what they call the curry capital of Britain satisfied, and the best Indian in Gibraltar by more than one account. The salmon, a lamb shank, a sizzling lamb dish and a chilli and garlic butter naan are named, naan arrives in a copper dish, portions are large, and the vegetarian and vegan range is praised repeatedly. One Spanish regular says it is in the running for the best place to eat in Gibraltar for a fourth year.

Kelly, the manager, is named for looking after celebrations: a wedding party of thirteen booked the day before was met with a decorated table and bubbly, and given a dessert on the house to stand in for a cake photo; an anniversary couple who had to move their booking found the table dressed for them. Rusario and Danny get named too, and a Portuguese couple who only came for a drink were welcomed, served well-presented cocktails with small snacks, and left wanting to return for dinner.

The caveats are about timing and price, which is called somewhat elevated. Late in the evening things slip: greasy poppadoms at a late sitting in June 2026, and an August 2026 walker who arrived to find the kitchen closed before the ten o'clock the listing promises. A request for a spicier curry was met with chilli flakes rather than cooking, the inside room was cold under the air conditioning, and one April 2026 reviewer found it noisy and banal with an expat feel. A May 2026 one-star review, disputed by the owner, describes a wedding party in 2025 served alcoholic drinks when non-alcoholic ones were ordered and brushed off when they raised it.

Come for Indian cooking many rate the best on the Rock, a strong vegetarian menu and a bar that is worth a stop on its own, and ask for Kelly for a celebration; go earlier rather than late, and expect Ocean Village prices. Anniversary celebration
Little Bay was recommended by our taxi driver when he took us to the Sunborn Yacht Hotel, so we booked a table to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We arranged an extremely short notice (day before) booking for a wedding party of thirteen people and were greeted on the day with a beautifully arranged table and glasses of bubbly waiting for us. Superb Indian Restaurant on the Ocean Village Marina
We happened upon The Little Bay after landing late on a Thursday night. So glad we found it. Great Indian food with great service. A seriously fantastic curry.
