Our review
Magic Hands Patisserie is a small Moroccan-leaning patisserie and café on Horse Barrack Lane, off the main drag. It is not on Tripadvisor; on Google it scores 4.6 from 32 reviews, and the Index is 4.50. We re-read the reviews on 6 September 2026: eleven carry text, and the newest is from June 2025, more than a year ago. Our July read noted Google showing it as temporarily closed; today's digest does not say either way, so check it is trading before you go.
The reviews divide between the pastry counter and the savoury kitchen. Coffee and a fancy cake for £3.50, with illy coffee, brought one visitor back three times in a short break and drew the same note from a Polish reviewer. On the savoury side, chicken couscous pastela, chicken and tuna tarts and couscous are named, and Spanish-speaking regulars in February 2025 called it the best patisserie in Gibraltar and, for one, the best place to eat.
Regulars describe it as always delicious, friendly and super clean, with friendly women behind the counter. The one dissent, from April 2025, is a Catalan couple who found the server unhelpful and haughty when they struggled in English; ordering across a language gap may take patience.

La meva parella i jo som d’Espanya. Vam anar a aquest establiment el dilluns per comprar un briox de canyella farcit de gelat. Nosaltres sabem anglès molt bàsic i ens vam intentar comunicar amb el dependent.
