Magic Masala Bar & Restaurants is an Indian restaurant on Reclamation Road, in Unit 6 at Chatham Counterguard on the edge of the town centre. It has no Tripadvisor reviews and scores 4.0 on Google from 2, so it is listed on the Index but not ranked, and this is its first write-up. The reviews were re-read on 6 September 2026; the newest is from August 2025.
The two reviews agree on friendliness and flavour and part on timing. The five-star calls it cosy, the staff friendly and the food made with care, with a chicken bhuna as the highlight, full of flavour and properly cooked.
The three-star, in German, found the food good too, but the dishes arrived at wildly different times even though the party were the only guests: the curries first, bread and rice about ten minutes later, and the last plate twenty minutes after the first. A warning from the same reviewer: mild here is still very spicy.

Absolutely loved this place—cozy vibe, friendly staff, and food that tastes like it’s made with real care. The Chicken bhuna was the highlight, full of flavor and cooked perfectly. Definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to!more →

Freundliche Bedienung. Obwohl wir die einzigen Gäste waren, kam das Essen zu komplett unterschiedlichen Zeiten. Das warme Essen zuerst, Brot und Reis ca. 10 Minuten später. Die letzte Portion kam 20’ später als die erste. Vom Geschmack her war das Essen gut. Hinweis: Mild bedeutet immer noch sehr spicy 🤪more →
