MasCafé

MasCafé is a café and restaurant on the first floor of the Eroski Center supermarket on Winston Churchill Avenue, next to the airport. It is not on Tripadvisor; on Google it scores 4.3 from 48 reviews, and the Index is 4.30. We re-read the reviews on 6 September 2026, fourteen with text, the newest from August 2026.

The terrace is the reason to know about it. Reviewers in Spanish, German and English describe planes passing right beside you and a clear view of landings from the east, with the Rock behind; an August 2026 visitor adds that the waiters are friendly enough to chat with. Clean toilets and a good cappuccino are noted in June 2025, and a great cheese sandwich in February 2026.

The cooking is better than a supermarket address suggests, on the older evidence. A menu del día at £7.75 with a drink and dessert impressed a Spanish visitor in 2023 as the only set lunch they found in Gibraltar, though the main is not chosen; the braised beef was called a masterpiece; breakfast in June 2025 was tasty apart from overcooked eggs.

The dissent is older and scattered. A Dutch reviewer in April 2024 found the service very slow, the room without atmosphere and milk put in a black coffee. A French reviewer in March 2024 blamed a chicken sandwich for a violent stomach upset; it is one lurid account with nothing similar before or since. A November 2025 note simply says the takeaway food did not look appealing.

Come for breakfast or a cheap set lunch on a terrace where you can watch aircraft land, if you are up near the frontier. Go knowing it is inside a supermarket and the room itself is plain. Nobody from Gibraltar Index has eaten here; this write-up is drawn from the reviews.
