Mr Noodles

Mr Noodles is an Asian noodle and rice takeaway on Queensway Road, with a few tables outside. It is not on Tripadvisor; on Google it scores 4.2 from 98 reviews, down a tenth since our July read, and the Index is 4.20. We re-read the reviews on 6 September 2026, eleven with text, the newest from August 2026.

The praise is consistent and simple: tasty, fast, filling and fairly priced. A May 2026 visitor called it the tastiest food of their holiday, another in the same month said it is their go-to even when ordering pizza next door, and a February 2026 reviewer got service with a smile. Red curry and jasmine prawns are named, a container 'full' of meat is noted, and two Portuguese reviewers in August 2026 found the Thai-style food flavoursome with well-judged portion sizes.

The caveats are worth weighing. A long-standing regular wrote in August 2026 that quality has noticeably dropped, the dishes bland and the chicken tough and dry, and said they would rather pay £2.50 more at a newly opened competitor with a near-identical name. Older three-star notes call the noodles simple, packet-style fare, and a Hungry Monkey delivery in June 2025 arrived with the curry spilled out of its foil box.

Come for quick, filling noodles and curry at takeaway prices, collecting rather than delivering if you can. Go knowing one regular thinks standards slipped this summer, and that there is now a rival with a similar name nearby.
