Our review

My Wines is a wine shop and bar with a rooftop terrace on the Strip at Chatham Counterguard, and the reviews were re-read on 6 September 2026. It scores 4.1 on Tripadvisor from 183 reviews and 4.4 on Google from 514, for an Index of 4.30, and the newest review is from 1 September 2026.

Two things earn the warmest words. The wine pairing, led by Michelle with her family's history of the place, won over a cruise party who had sat through many tastings and called most of them terrible; a Google reviewer had the same experience on the rooftop, with the wines and food coming with a story. And breakfast: outstanding in June 2026, a reason to return on its own in February, the Salmon Royale named, and "best breakfast menu in Gibraltar" from a Google regular in August. Pancakes, a steak, chicken fingers and fries, nachos with homemade guacamole and the cocktails are all praised, the manager Hugo is named, and the air conditioning is appreciated.

It is also a party bar, with a DJ, birthday decorations laid on for a thirtieth, and a busy Saturday-night rooftop with reasonable drink prices. Locals describe it as a place filled with passion and part of the culture of the Rock.

The complaints are specific. A French visitor in August 2026 found the calamari undercooked and the fried fish plainly frozen and reheated, and advises drinking rather than eating; a Polish reviewer the same month loved the food but found kitchen smoke drifting into the room through weak extraction. The advertised microbrewery had no beer available in May 2026, a December 2025 visitor found it slow and nothing special, and a June 2025 couple who had booked on the strength of the wine list were seated at a dingy corner table, shown no wine list at all, and served with visible reluctance.

Unexpected wine pairing win!
We did a wine pairing here as part of a cruise excursion and it was a real unexpected gem. We've been to a ton of wine tastings -- at vineyards, wineries, and wine bars. Most are terrible.
