Our review

Piece of Cake is a boutique bakery and café on Engineer Lane, off Main Street, with a few sheltered tables outside. It was a Google-only listing until today; its Tripadvisor page was found and attached on 6 September 2026, so Tripadvisor now counts alongside Google. It stands at 4.8 from 57 Tripadvisor reviews and 4.6 from 101 on Google, for an Index of 4.60. The reviews were re-read on 6 September 2026, and the newest is from August.

Celebration cakes are the strength on both sites. Wedding cakes organised from Wales and the UK, delivered to the Rock Hotel or straight to the restaurant, a three-tier fruit, red velvet and Victoria sponge rescheduled twice through Covid without complaint, birthday cakes arranged by email and delivered to a hotel on time, a company cake at short notice, and a last-minute flavour change handled by Gabrielle with what one reviewer called grace. When a regular had a problem this August, it was fixed quickly.

The counter is very good most of the time. Cupcakes, stuffed doughnuts, brownies, croissants with morning coffee, pastel de nata, cupcake ice creams and freezos on a warm day all get warm reviews, and 'hidden gem' comes up more than once. The staff are described as friendly, fast and professional throughout, and one reviewer notes the bakery's involvement in local charity events.

The dissent is about sweetness and price. A 2022 Tripadvisor reviewer found the cupcakes sickly under a heap of buttercream and nothing special at £3; an Italian visitor in July 2025 found a red velvet and a Biscoff cupcake too sweet and dry to finish; an August 2025 Google reviewer binned a brownie and an Oreo cookie. A gentler four-star says the buttercream is a touch sweet and the price high but the care is obvious. One 2025 reviewer was quoted £3 and charged £3.50.

Afternoon treat.
We visit Piece of Cake every year when we are on holiday in Gib. This afternoon. My Mum had a Latte. My dad had a banoffee cupcake ice cream, I had an aero mint cupcake ice cream and a Pepsi. Food and Drinks enjoyed by all. We will be back before we return to the UK.more →

Amazing Wedding cake
We booked our cake in 2019 for our Wedding in October 2020. Sadly we had to postpone twice due to Covid, Gabrielle was always happy to reschedule. We picked a 3 tier cake, fruit, red velvet and Victoria sponge, lilac ribbon to match our colour scheme and real flowers to decorate. Everytime that we visited Gibraltar we popped in to Piece omore →
