Our review
Bella Vita is the bar and restaurant on Eastern Beach Road with the sand in front of it. It scores 3.7 on Google across 64 reviews, Index 3.80, and is not on Tripadvisor. The reviews were re-read on 6 September 2026, and the picture has changed: the 2025 reviews are warm, and almost everything written in 2026 is a warning.
The good reviews are about the place rather than the plate: a classic beach bar with decent prices and a great location, friendly staff, and in November 2025 fresh and tasty food that the reviewer would recommend. A July 2026 five-star says only that the view is lovely.
Then the 2026 run. In June a German party sent back a burger that was completely raw inside, found the table filthy and the toilets worse, and say they were overcharged and told the card machine was broken when they asked for a receipt. In July a visitor found every glass dirty and spent the meal worrying about food poisoning. On 25 August two reviews, apparently from the same table, describe piri piri chicken that arrived suspiciously fast and was half raw, caught before the first bite.
Value gets its own complaints. A local who has run restaurants photographed 300g of fried squid at £16 and asked whether it was worth it, and a June reviewer sums the place up as loud music, staff fooling about and average food.

I had piri piri chicken, I ordered and the food came very fast I was wondering allready then I checked and the chicken was half raw and thank god i noticed before taking a bite that is so dangerous I could get such a bad food poisoning from RAW chicken I do not recommend going there These people gonna kill someonemore →

We have already wondered that the food came so quickly, it was also half raw, the bun with the chicken was halved so the cook should have actually seen it if I hadn't looked at it again I would have been poisoned. I can't recommend it to anyone. Simply catastrophicmore →

Don't risk it! We should have gotten the hint when every glass they had was dirty but we didnt cancel our order after that and thats on us. It's like whoever came up with the menu is a big culinary sadist. We saw other pictures here and thought it looked decent but we were fooled. Right now im eating it because im too hungry to go anywhermore →
