Sanu Brunch & Co is a brunch café on the Ocean Village promenade. It is not on Tripadvisor; on Google it scores 3.9 from 154 reviews, and the Index is 3.90. We re-read the reviews on 6 September 2026, thirteen with text, the newest from August 2026, and the split in them is the story.

The defenders are real. Spanish-speaking reviewers in April 2026 praised pleasant, attentive service, very good food and a lovely setting, one in October 2025 called it the best coffee in Ocean Village with quick, friendly waitresses, and a May 2026 visitor got good coffee and a fast takeaway baguette. Homemade, comforting food and a menu with plenty of variety, eggs benedict, English breakfast and crepes among it, recur in the older praise.

But the 2026 one-star reviews are specific and they outnumber the praise. In August a customer waited 20 minutes at the till, was told to sit, and was never served. In July an eggs benedict arrived with microwaved eggs and a thin, watery hollandaise, and an 'açaí bowl' turned out to be yoghurt with açaí powder stirred in and supermarket granola on top; the reviewer says staff justified rather than listened. May brought undercooked bacon, a tasteless bagel and coffee like water, plus a blunt plea that a business district needs fast, healthy food and this is not delivering it.

The pattern is slow, absent service and careless cooking in a spot whose location should make it an easy win. A December 2025 reviewer tried twice for a coffee and gave up both times, once because nobody came, once because staff were chatting. The picture has, if anything, worsened through spring and summer 2026.

Come for a coffee or a quick takeaway on the marina if you are nearby and patient, on the chance you catch a good day. Do not come expecting a reliable brunch: the recent evidence on pace and cooking is poor. Nobody from Gibraltar Index has eaten here; this write-up is drawn from the reviews.
