Our review

The Lounge is a gastro bar on the marina at Ragged Staff Wharf, Queensway Quay. It holds 4.5 on Tripadvisor from 830 reviews and 4.5 on Google from 569, exact agreement that sets the Index at 4.50. The reviews were re-read on 6 September 2026 and the newest is from the end of August, so the picture is current.

Weddings dominate the recent reviews. Three couples between July and August 2026 held receptions here and describe planning handled from first question to last coffee, a coeliac menu arranged for a guest, a main course changed the day before without fuss, table decor brought to life from ideas sent from the UK, and canapés at the start with pizzas at the end. Sonia is the name they thank, with Michelle, Jake and Dana alongside; the owners are Geordies, and one cruise passenger called in to pass on regards from friends back home.

Day to day, the Sunday roast draws the strongest claim on the page: a local who has tried them all calls it the best in Gibraltar, with beef cooked pink to order, huge homemade Yorkshires and rich gravy. Fish and chips, a featherblade steak, the chicken liver pâté, pork belly and a pistachio and white chocolate cheesecake are named, cocktails and local beers are praised, Ruben's Irish coffee gets its own review, and there is a weekly quiz. The terrace over the water, with a resident cat, is why many people write.

The kitchen is not faultless. A June 2026 diner found the pâté excellent but the chicken pesto penne salty and the Eton mess without meringue; a July 2026 lunch of tapas arrived a little less hot than it should have. One June 2026 one-star review concerns a wedding photographer who was rude to a guest with a medical condition; whether the photographer was the restaurant's own is not clear from the account, so it is weighed lightly here.

Friendly and nice atmosphere 👌

Fantastic wedding reception
Fantastic afternoon at our wedding reception. Could not fault anything about the Lounge Gastro Bar from the planning all the way through to the final cup of coffee.
