Our review

The Shack is a small kebab, burger and pinchito grill at Westview Park, in the south-west of the Rock. It has 3 Tripadvisor reviews at 3.7 and 3.0 on Google from 8, so it is listed but not ranked, our threshold being fifteen reviews. We re-read the reviews on 6 September 2026; the newest is from August 2026, and the trend since January is downward.

The fans are specific. Pinchitos loaded with flavour and called the best on the Rock, home-made chips with the skins on, spot-on sauces, a well-cooked kebab wrap, a burger one reviewer thinks the best in Gibraltar, and a medium kebab box big enough to defeat one hungry customer. Prices were called very reasonable in January, and a June reviewer praises the customer service.

Since then the Google reviews have turned. A May 2026 regular says it used to be the best kebab in Gib and has gone downhill heavily, with a disrespectful attitude; an August order arrived in filthy, reused-looking bags with no fork and no sauce, and the meat was described in terms we will not repeat; a January chicken tikka was raw in a pool of oil, with a refund promised and never sent. A March Tripadvisor visitor got a doner wrap with nothing but meat, a cold burger and an £18 bill, from a server who spoke no English.

That is ten reviews, five of them one star and five of them five, with four of the one-stars from 2026. Small numbers swing hard, but the direction of travel is consistent, and the rudeness and raw-food complaints come from different people at different times.

Come for the pinchitos and home-made chips if you are nearby and prepared for a no-frills hatch, and check the order before you walk away; on the evidence since January this is a place that has slipped. Just a fat bloke in a shed who doesn’t speak a word of English.
The food was pretty basic and overpriced for what it was. The surly bloke in the shack couldn’t speak even one word of English. The menu was limited and the doner wrap I got had doner meat and nothing else - i.e. no salad, sauce or anything else, just doner meat. My wife had a burger which was cold and she discarded it after one bite. Thimore →

Incredibly good.
I ordered a Big Order, I was really hungry, my wife ordered a Medium Kebab Box, it wasn't that medium, she had a hard time finishing it, luckily I was there, lol. It's truly exceptional, incredibly good. It's going to become a must-try for me once I'm in Gibraltar.more →

Used to be the best kebab in Gib, but now it seems like they’re doing you a favour if you eat there. The attitude is disrespectful. Im sure the owners have noticed the difference in demand. Sort it out cause its gone downhill heavy.. What a shame.more →

Just had a takeaway from there. Had a kebab wrap with chips. They forgot the sauce but it was very good. The kebab was well cooked not too raw or too crispy and the chips where homemade with skin. 👌more →

Ordered chicken tikka and was served raw chicken accompanied by a soup of oil 😖😖 also small chips full of black bits ... called and was told i was gonna get a refund didnt even get new food or refund never odering from here ever again disgusting unhygienic food very bad experience...more →
