On Tripadvisor the last fortnight of August is a run of five-star thanks, most of them naming the staff: Juan from Málaga above all, with Greta, Pablo, David, Daniel and Andrea. The pizza is called perfect, a £12 margherita good value, the cannelloni very good, a solo diner was fed within ten minutes, and a family with children praises freshly made gluten-free options. Google has the same warmth in Spanish: Juan the manager and Andrea attentive, everything fresh and just made, the cannelloni with spinach recommended.

Google's August also holds a cluster of one-star accounts that share a shape: groups and busy nights. A family of five waited over an hour for food that had never been sent to the kitchen, then watched the manager shout at their server and were charged for their drinks; a French table waited up to an hour and a half for a beef pizza they found inedible and paid about 80 euros for three pizzas and a bruschetta; a party of thirteen took two hours, with plates arriving at random, pasta without flavour, pigeons on the tables, and gluten-free pasta fetched from a shop mid-meal. Others call the ingredients poor, the risotto bad and the prices high, and one describes it as a kitchen nightmare.

Two structural complaints sit beneath the noise. Several reviewers say serving staff had very little English, so that even ordering by menu number was a struggle, and the outside area is not always clean, with rubbish under the tables noted in Latvian. Paying can take a while: fifteen minutes in one account, a short wait in another.

Come as a couple or a small family for a straightforward pizza or the cannelloni, and ask for Juan; do not come as a large group on a busy August night, and do not expect much English at the table.
