The eastern face is the steep one — cliffs falling to Catalan Bay and Sandy Bay, and the remains of the vast corrugated water catchments that once collected Gibraltar's entire fresh water supply off the bare rock.

Almost every photograph of Gibraltar is taken from the west. This is the other side, and it is the more dramatic of the two.
